How do I find the planning history for a specific property?

Search for the property address to see all planning applications ever submitted for that site, including approved, refused, and withdrawn applications going back decades. Planning history is essential when buying a property or checking what has been built with permission.

What do the different planning decision types mean?

Approved means the application was granted permission. Refused means it was rejected — the decision notice explains why. Approved with conditions means it can proceed subject to specific requirements. Withdrawn means the applicant pulled the application before a decision was made.

Can I search for planning applications by applicant or agent name?

Yes. Search by the applicant's name, planning agent's name, or architect to find all applications associated with a particular person or firm. This is useful for tracking a developer's activity across the island or finding past applications on your own property.

What information is available for each planning application?

Each record shows the applicant name, site address, description of the proposed development, application type, date submitted, decision, and any conditions. For many applications you can also view the original plans and supporting documents submitted to the planning authority.
