do not object to the proposed development, despite concerns regarding future pressures on the group of conifers on the north east boundary due to proximity to the building, root damage from groundworks, and low quality/storm damage
DEFA Forestry, Amenity and Lands Directorate (Arboricultural Officer) has no objection to the proposed detached garage but notes concerns about impact on boundary conifers following prior tree removals under Tree Preservation Act licence.
Key concern: future pressures to remove boundary conifers due to proximity and poor condition
Forestry, Amenity and Lands Directorate
No Objectionunder the Tree Preservation Act a licence was granted for the removal of the 2 pines and 1 larch at the above address. These trees have not been shown on any plans.; The applicant has already conducted groundworks which have encroached within the RPA of these trees resulting in the removal of roots from the group.; There will likely be future pressures to remove the trees at the forefront of the group due to their proximity to the proposed building and their condition- several have suffered storm damage and as a whole the group is of low quality.; However, whilst I do have concerns regarding these trees in the future, as it stands we do not object to the proposed development.
