C/O Planning and Building Control Directorate Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture First Floor, Murray House, Mount Havelock Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 2SF
Dear Minister,
Re: 24/00154/B
Addition of a container, widened walkway, and variation of Conditions 2 and 4 of PA 22/00757/B, etc., Land Adjacent to Glen Moar Mill and Field 315139, St Johns, Isle of Man, IM4 3NN
1 We write regarding the above matter and your Department's decision to refuse the application referred to, which our client wishes to appeal. Please find enclosed an AP20.8 form which refers to this letter.
2 The reasons for the appeal are, in brief, that your Department:
- gave insufficient weight to the Island's economic strategy and overriding national need for investment in the TT's future;
- did not consider the confined context, the historical development of local topography, nor their combined mitigating effect;
- disregarded extant, government-led countryside interventions that are materially identical to the proposal's prominent elements;
- summarily ignored submissions concerning the practicability or reasonableness of PA 22/00757/B Conditions 2 and 4; and
- misdirected itself regarding Environment Policies 10 and 13.
3 We trust this letter provides sufficient grounds for an appeal to be validated and will arrange payment of the prescribed fee on this basis.
Yours sincerely, Euan P. H. Craine B.Arch, M.Arch, ADPPA, ARB, RIBA
