Dear Miss Callow
Planning List – 14 February 2008
08/00177/B – Extension to Shower Block, Southern 100 Headquarters, Red Gap, Arbory Road.
There must be no development within 8 metres of the watercourse in order to minimise the risk of disturbance to the river, and to retain a natural wildlife corridor. Measures must be in place during construction works to safeguard the watercourse from run-off and sedimentation.
08/00156/B – Conversion of Existing Barn into residential accommodation with driveway and entrance alterations, Glenduff Farm Glen Duff.
There must be no development within 8 metres of the watercourse in order to minimise the risk of disturbance to the river, and to retain a natural wildlife corridor. Measures must be in place during construction works to safeguard the watercourse from run-off and sedimentation.
08/00278/B – Erection of a dwelling, with associated garages, vehicle access and landscaping, Field 432537 Phildraw Road, Ballasalla (Re advertised due to amended plans received).
Development must be a minimum distance of 8 metres from the watercourse in order to minimise the risk of damage or disturbance to the river banks and river bed. Measures must be in place during construction works to safeguard the watercourse from run-off and sedimentation.
Isle of Man
Government 191 08/00278/B - Erection of a detached garage (comprising of an amendment to the development approved under 07/0400/B), Bluebell Cottage, Patrick Road, St. Johns.
The Inland Fisheries section would have some concern regarding this application due to the proximity of the proposed development to the watercourse. A corridor of a minimum of 8 metres must be retained undisturbed between the river banks and the development, to provide maximum protection to the river habitat from damage.
During construction works every effort must be made to safeguard against water pollution to the nearby watercourse from any surface run-off and sedimentation.
For further advice and guidance, please contact the Inland Fisheries Section of DAFF.
Yours sincerely
Neil Milsom
Executive Officer - Fisheries
