13th August 2007
Dear Sir
ISLE OF MAN PLANNING SCHEME (DEVELOPMENT PLAN) ORDER 1982 06/01194/B – Amendments to approved dwelling, Plot 12 Lucerne Court, Victoria Road, Douglas
Douglas Corporation acting as The Agent for the Department of Transport, under the Sewerage Act 1999 has no objection in principle to the above application subject to the following.
The plot is served by separate foul and surface water drainage tails. It is believed that private drains are connected onto the sewer via individual manholes. The existing manholes must be constructed in accordance with ‘Manx Sewers for Adoption’.
The applicant/builder must contact the Borough of Douglas Drainage Department of the intended start date for the building works and to arrange an inspection of the existing manholes. If necessary the applicant/builder must rehabilitate the existing manholes in accordance with the Borough of Douglas Drainage Department requirements.
It should be noted that it is an offence under Manx legislation to permit the discharge of polluting or harmful matter to any public sewers or watercourses. Appropriate measures must be taken by the developer / occupier of the premises to ensure compliance with the legislation.
There must be NO discharge of surface water (directly or indirectly) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.
