In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby APPROVE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Continent 8 Technologies Proposal: Conversion of three existing light industry and warehousing units, to a data centre with ancillary offices at: Units 3B, 3C, 3D Middle River Industrial Estate Douglas Isle of Man IM2 1AL
which was considered on 29th May 2007, subject to compliance with the conditions specified below.

Schedule Of Conditions:
- The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
- This permission relates to the conversion of three light industry and warehousing units to a data centre with ancillary offices as shown in drawing numbers 07/381/4, 96/36/100(c) and 20/541/2(a) date stamped 8th March 2007, Letter from Continent 8 Technologies dated 7th March 2007.
- Prior to the commencement of works, details of the generators and chillers units to be installed shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the planning
authority and thereafter the installation of the units shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details.
- No facing materials shall be used other than materials similar to those used on the existing building.
- The use of the building hereby permitted shall not be carried out until the car parking and manoeuvring areas have been provided in accordance with the approved plans and those areas shall thereafter be kept available at all times for their respective purposes.
NOTE For a change in the water supply to premises (domestic or commercial) the applicant should contact the Isle of Man Water Authority Byelaws Inspector (Michael Karren), telephone 695957.
NOTE The applicant is advised to consult with the Fire Safety Department to discuss fire safety matters.
This decision was made by the Director of Planning and Building control in accordance with the authority delegated to him under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
This permission refers only to that required under the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
Any appeal against this decision must be in writing and must be received by this Department within 21 days of the date of this notice.

Please note that a copy of the Officer’s report which led to the decision, together with correspondence relative to the application, is available for inspection at the Department.
The proposed development must not be commenced until either;
- The time for requesting an appeal has expired; or
- Any appeal has been determined;
Whichever is the later.
