Officer's Report
The site represents the curtilage of Rushen Primary School which is located at Four Roads, close to the meeting of Rushen, Port Erin and Port St. Mary's boundaries.
The site is designated as Primary School on the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
Proposed here is the replacement of a number of external doors on the eastern elevation to make them have level thresholds over which disabled persons wheelchairs may pass without difficulty. Also proposed is the installation of ramps and handrails alongside existing doorways on the western part of the school and the removal of existing plastic thresholds on other doorways in the centre of the complex.
None of these proposed changes adversely affect the appearance of the school which is a modern building.
Rushen Parish Commissioners indicate that they have no objection to the proposal.
