The Secretary, Planning Committee Department of Local Government & the Environment, Murray House, Douglas.
Dear Sir,
21 September 2005
PA 05/1696/B – Erection of a garden room to southeast elevation, door altered to a window to northeast elevation, install a window to southeast elevation, enlarge size of approved roof windows to front elevation and render to upper part of gable wall to front elevation, Plot 12, Carrick Bay View Ballagawne Road Colby, Rushen.
The plans for the proposed development have been inspected and the Drainage Division of the Department of Transport requests that the following comment(s) be passed to your Planning Committee: -
NO OBJECTION In principle subject to: -
There must be NO discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.
The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the “existing drainage”. If this “existing drainage” discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.
In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.
Yours faithfully, Ian Wade Assistant Engineer Development Control
