In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: J Hurst Proposal: Approval in principle for the conversion of existing building into 12 residential units with associated parking at: Knock Rushen House Scarlett Castletown IM9 1TA
which was considered on 10 February 2005, for the reasons set out below.

Reasons For Refusal:
- The proposed development would result in an increase in traffic using Queen Street/Scarlett Road; this road is, in parts, narrow and there are dwellings immediately adjacent to the carriageway; the increase in traffic would constitute a danger to existing residents.
- This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
