The property is an existing end of terrace house located between Sea View Road and Queen's Road in a short section of road named Mount Field Road.
Proposed here is the demolition of part of the side wall of the rear yard in order to create a parking space for one vehicle. The space created will be 2.8m wide and 7.2m long which can easily accommodate a standard motor vehicle.
There is no alternative area in which a vehicle could be parked and on-street parking can be a problem in this area.
The Commissioners' comments regarding parking entirely in the space and off the lane are worthy of inclusion as a condition and should not cause the applicant any inconvenience.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This approval relates to the creation of a parking facility in the rear yard by the removal of part of the existing wall all as shown in the drawings received on 6th July 2004.
C 3. Vehicles must be parked within the new space such that all of the vehicle is off the lane so as to avoid blocking access to the lane for users of either motor vehicles.
I confirm that this decision accords with Government Circular No 57/01 (Delegation of Functions to Director of Planning and Building Control).
