Isle of Man Water Authority objected due to capacity constraints at Glencrutchery water treatment works but offered to withdraw if DHSS demonstrates water savings elsewhere; Drainage Division requested deferral for drainage details then issued no objection subject to conditions; Braddan Parish Commissioners supported the application.
Key concern: limited treatment capability of Glencrutchery water treatment works preventing new connections without water quality deterioration
Isle of Man Water Authority
Objectionthe Authority should lodge objections to all planning applications for new green field developments in the Glencrutchery supply zone; we are prepared to withdraw our objection if DHSS can demonstrate that it has made water consumption savings in other areas of the business in the Glencrutchery supply zone - we have adopted a similar policy with regard to the Department of Education's application for the new secondary school; This would have to be on the basis of measured metered consumption
