Conditional No Objectionthe Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society (IOMNHAS) would support the proposal to retain the above building as it believes the combined structure of house and barn is an important example of an increasingly rare form of vernacular architecture; the Society would like to see a condition to the effect that prior to any work on the site, the developer should fund a proper survey; the obligation is put on the developer to pay for such work
Conditions requested: prior to any work on the site, the developer should fund a proper survey of the buildings to be altered/demolished, including photographs and details of measurements and materials, internally and externally, of the buildings themselves as well as giving sufficient details to relate them to other extant buildings on site, by or on behalf of the Manx Museum and National Trust /Manx National Heritage (MNH) - with whom a copy of the survey should be lodged -and to the approval of the Planning Committee

ObjectionThe above Application was discussed by the Commissioners at their meeting on Monday last when it was resolved to OPPOSE the Application on the following grounds; Condition 4 of the Approval on each of 10/00208 and 10/01329 require these buildings to be demolished prior to occupation of the new dwelling; to vary the condition to permit this would set an unwanted precedent
