Area Plan for the South adopted in 2013
The site is designated Proposed Mixed Use, allowing community uses, tourism, and leisure. Mixed Use clarified as including community uses alongside retail and other compatible activities. The heritage centre fits as a tourism/community use in this key location near shops and transport, revitalising the site without conflicting with the nearby Development Brief 21 which requires design integration (not directly applicable as site is alongside but not part of it).
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.

SupportGiven the number of currently derelict / undeveloped sites in Port Erin ... it is good to see such a viable and beneficial plan being put forward. Hope it succeeds and gives RHT a useful and permanent base for their excellent projects.

Supportwe support the proposed redevelopment.; However what is happening with the recycling bins and clothes banks? If these are retained in their present location they will mar the redevelopment and diminish the experience for visitors and volunteers alike.; We would suggest that they could be moved to the car park behind the Police Station.
