Officer assessed highway visibility as the key test, initially failing due to restricted splays but satisfied via condition requiring 2.4m x 36m provision. No other GP2 aspects raised as problematic.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Approved plans
This approval relates to drawing no.s 001 and 002 rev. A date stamped the 31st May 2012.
Visibility splays
Prior to the first use of the car park visibility splays of a minimum of 2.4m x 36m at a height of 1.05m at the junction of the access road with Greenfield Road must be provided. In the interests of highway safety such visibility must be maintained thereafter.
no objections to the planning application
Highways Division objects to the application due to inadequate visibility splays onto Greenfield Road but states the issue can be resolved by a condition requiring 2.4m x 36m visibility splays maintained free from obstruction.
Key concern: visibility to the left as you enter Greenfield Road from the application site is restricted by an overgrown grass bank to less than 2.4m x 36m
Highways Division
Conditional No ObjectionThis application does not meet the relevant highway policies and standards regarding visibility onto Greenfield Road.; A condition requiring visibility splays of 2.4m x 36m at a height of 1.05m above road level to be maintained free from obstruction would overcome this issue.; Officers of the Highways Division are available to check the appropriateness of proposed signing.
Conditions requested: visibility splays of 2.4m x 36m at a height of 1.05m above road level to be maintained free from obstruction
