Retention and replication of historic fabric
The existing skirtings, architraves, doors sanitary ware is required to be catalogued and carefully removed and stored for re-use. Any damaged or not capable of being re-installed will be replicated to match existing.
The scheme would be an acceptable form of development, with no visual impact or a detrimental impact on the historical nature of the building.

No ObjectionI have to inform that my Commissioners have now considered the above proposed development, and have no objections thereto.
The original application by the Department of Infrastructure - Property Division sought consent to replace existing asbestos roofing sheets and rainwater goods with fibre cement sheets at a building on Jurby Industrial Estate. The document is an inspector's report recommending approval, supported by the Conservation Officer who noted the need for renovation to enable re-use and retention of the Registered Building with no detrimental visual or historical impact. No objections from Jurby Parish Commissioners or Transport Division. The inspector assessed that the proposal would improve the building's appearance and recommended granting consent subject to Planning Division conditions. The appeal was allowed.
