General Policy 2
General Policy 2 (b) (c) (g) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2016 requires development to respect the character, pattern and form of the surrounding area, be of high-quality design, and protect residential amenity. The officer assessed the pitched roof extension as fitting the roofscape, subordinate to the main house, not harming streetscene, and having no adverse amenity impacts, thus complying. This contrasted with the prior flat-roof refusal under the same policy.
