The site represents the curtilage of the Manx Co-op, Main Road, Onchan, which is a single storey detached property located on the northern side of Main Road, which is within the centre of Onchan Village.

The property has been zoned under The Onchan Local Plan Order 2000 as being within an area of "Mixed Use"; the site is neither within a Conservation Area nor within an area of High Landscape Value or Costal Value and Scenic Significance.

Proposal
The application seeks approval for the installation of illuminated signage to the front elevation of the building (southern elevation).

Onchan Commissioners:- Approve The Authority has received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / recommendation
The proposals are minor alterations which will replace the existing signage and will have no adverse impacts upon the amenities of the neighbouring properties. For these reasons the proposal would be appropriate in these locations and therefore the application is recommended is for an approval.
