Refusal Decision Notice
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Penketh - Millar 23 West Quay Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 1DL
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs S Fergusson Proposal: Alterations and erection of a two storey extension to side elevation to provide garage and additional living accommodation at: 151 Greenlands Avenue Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 2PD
which was considered on 16th November 2007, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 22nd November 2007
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- Due to the dimensions of the proposed extension relative to the constraints of the application site it is evident that the proposed garage would not be capable of use by an average car. As such the on-site car parking provision that would remain following the erection of the extension would be inadequate and contrary to the provisions of General Policy 2 and Transport Policy 7 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007.
This decision was made by the Director of Planning and Building control in accordance with the authority delegated to him under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
