Proposed Extension to Church Hall At Braddan Church, Braddan For The Vicar and Wardens of Braddan
Job No.: 03.1367
PLANNING STATEMENT19th September 2007
The application No. 99/1224 submitted by Kellett & Robinson Partnership and approved in 2000 incorporated an extension to link the church hall to the church itself, provision of toilet and ancillary facilities, alterations to the existing main hall, an additional meeting room and a new main hall.
The link corridor and toilet / ancillary facilities was constructed in 2003 and this application deals with variations to the main hall originally proposed. The purpose and use of the proposed extension remain the same, viz. 'to provide additional facilities for church and community activities such as are commonly provided by a church or village hall'.
The main variation externally is the wall finish being 'Ashlar' effect concrete block with feature band rather than sand / cement render and the roof to the new hall is now shown at a shallower pitch. The footprint has also been slightly reduced to allow a footpath around the building.
Internally, a corridor has been included and storage rooms for chairs etc. which were not previously proposed.
McGarrigle & Jackson has consulted with Fiona Mullen of the Planning Department for advice prior to this submission and have been lead to believe that these amendments would be considered acceptable.
