Site
The property An Airidh, Windsor Grove, Ramsey, is a two storey detached property which is located within a residential cul-de-sac.
Land Use Zoning / Policy
The application site is within an area recognised as being an area of existing predominantly residential use, under the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982. The site is within a Conservation Ares or within an area zoned as high landscape value or costal value and scenic significance.
Proposal
The application proposes the replace existing roof timber shingles with slates.
Representations
Ramsey Commissioners:- No objection
The Authority has received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / Recommendation
The proposal will improve the appearance of the property and that of the street scene. Additionally there is an array of different types and colours of roofing tiles/slates which have been used within Windsor Road and Windsor Grove and the alteration of the existing roof tiles will not be out of keeping.
For these reasons the proposals would seem appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
