Officer's Report

Planning approval is sought to construct a mezzanine floor to the first floor level of Unit 33, Isle of Man Business Park. The building is in use as a storage facility by Dickinson Cruikshank and the applicant advises that at present there is no currently no staffing on the unit. The mezzanine floor area would provide for a further storage area and the applicant advises that no more than six persons would be working on the site at any one time.

The Department of Transport Highways Division advise that they object to the proposal as no additional parking is provided. Braddan Commissioners advise that they approve the application. The Disability Access Officer requests wheelchair access to first floor level by way of a lift.

The comments of the Department of Transport are noted, however, given the use, and conditions that may be attached to that use, it is considered that the proposal is acceptable.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This approval relates to the plans and information submitted as part of this application and date stamped 24th April 2007.

C 3. The mezzanine floor area hereby approved may be used for storage purposes only in association with the ground floor use. No approval is hereby granted or implied for the use of the building as an office other than ancillary to the main use of the building.
