The Proposal

Assessment
The Department often receives applications for the use of residential property for this sort of use and there can be suggestions that the use should be carried out in the village centre where there is car parking and where such a use is sustainable. In this case the use will be in the village centre and should be encouraged as it contributes to the mixture of facilities and services available in the heart of the community.
There are no objections to the application.
Party Status
The Department of Transport and the local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.
Isle of Man Water Authority, Disability Access Officer and Fire Prevention Officer comment on issues which relate to servicing or which are covered by the Building Regulations and as such should not be afforded party status in this instance.
