THE APPLICATION SITE The site Jurby School, School Close, Jurby. PLANNING POLICY
The application site is within an area recognised as being an area of schools & other establishments in large groups, under the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982. The site is not within a Conservation Area, or within an area zoned as High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance.
PLANNING HISTORY
Construction of temporary changing rooms (for the period of three years) (06/02201/B) – APPROVED
Proposal
The application proposes the erection of a canopy to safe play area. The proposal would have a width of 12 metres, a depth of 4.87 metres and a maximum height of 4.1 metres.

The Chief Fire Officer makes no comment on the merit of the proposed development but request that an informative note be attached to any approval decision notice.

Applicant to consult with Fire Safety Department as this type of property falls within the scope of the Fire Precautions Act 1975.

The applicant is advised that there are Underground Cables/Overhead Lines present in the area indicated in the planning application. Please contact Anthony Kinrade or Ian Horsey, Operations and Maintenance Department, Network Services, Manx Electricity Authority, (Tel. 687705) to discuss working practices around Cables and Overhead Lines which may be required to be diverted before any work can be carried out on site.
The applicant is also advised to contact the Manx Electricity Authority for Electrical Site Safety 5 documents, (Tel. 687766), before any work is carried out on site. All work to be carried out with reference to Health and Safety Executive Guidance Notes HS(G)47 and GS6.
