Officer's Report
The application site comprises the Viking Longhouse building, Harbour View, Peel, a property currently being converted and extended to provide apartment accommodation.
This application follows a number of previous applications on the site to amend the originally approved scheme. This particular application seeks approval for the amalgamation of units 2 and 3, to form one single apartment. The unit would provide a three bedroom apartment and the works required to create a single unit would result in the creation of a new window in the south elevation which faces the parking area. No other external alterations are proposed and the parking provision within the site would remain unchanged.
The application is relatively minor and without adverse impact and is considered to be accepted.
Peel Town Commissioners advise that they recommend the application be approved and the Chief Fire Officer recommend that the applicant consults with the Flats Inspection team in relation to fire precautions.
It is considered that the following parties, who submitted comments, accord with the requirements of Planning Circular 1/06 and are therefore, afforded interested party status:
Peel Town Commissioners
