05/02046/B – Erection of double garage with living accommodation over to replace redundant barn – withdrawn 9/2/06
Proposal
The application proposes elevation amendments and erection of a sun lounge on approved dwelling (06/00470B).
Elevational changes include the installation of two small windows at second floor level within the north and south elevations.
The proposed sunroom would be a single storey extension with a width of 4.5 metres, a length of 5.8 metres and a maximum height of 4.3 metres.
Representations
Andreas Parish Commissioners:- No objection
Highways Division:- Do not oppose
S.P.M.C. & E:- The Society objected to the replacement dwelling (06/470) as being too big to be an acceptable ‘replacement’ and now it is to be made even bigger. If development control of replacements dwellings is to be fair and equitable, then this should be refused as have several others.
We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / recommendations
The proposal is a modest structure which will have no adverse impact to the detriment of the surrounding area, due to its size, location and due to the southern boundary treatment along the site. The introduction of the windows with the north and south elevations again will not cause adverse impacts to the detriment of residential amenity.
For these reasons the proposals would seem appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
