THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT The application site comprises of a parcel of land located in Maughold Village The proposed development comprises of the erection of a traditionally designed lamp post to replace an existing one. PLANNING HISTORY There are no previous planning applications that I consider relevant to the assessment of this current planning application. REPRESENTATIONS The Department of Transport Highways Division do not oppose the proposed development. The Department of Transport Drainage Division have no objection subject to the attachment of a note. The Disability Access Office makes general comment on the proposal. PLANNING POLICY I do not consider there to be any planning policy that is relevant to the assessment of the planning application. The application site is within a Conservation Area.
Assessment
I consider the overall level of development contained within the proposal to be very modest, in keeping with the character of the Conservation Area and unobjectionable.
I recommend that the planning application be approved.
Party Status
I consider that all parties that made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This approval relates to the site location plan and lamp post specification date stamped the 21st April 2006.
N 1. The applicant is advised that public sewerage is understood to cross the site. Prior to the commencement of works the applicant is recommended to consult with the Department of Transport Drainage Division.
