THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT The application site comprises of a parcel of land within the village car park in Maughold Village The proposed development comprises of the erection of four illuminated bollards within the application site. PLANNING HISTORY There are no previous planning applications that I consider relevant to the assessment of this current planning application. REPRESENTATIONS The Disability Access Office makes general comment on the proposal. The Society for the Preservation of the Manx Countryside and the Environment make general comment on the chosen design of bollard. PLANNING POLICY I do not consider there to be any planning policy that is relevant to the assessment of the planning application. The application site is within a Conservation Area.

ASSESSMENT

I consider the overall level of development contained within the proposal to be very modest, acceptable within the Conservation Area and unobjectionable. Given their size and position I consider that the impact of the bollards will be very limited.

I recommend that the planning application be approved.
