Description Of Application Site
- The application site is field situated next to the existing farm buildings of Ballacunner. The site is set approximately 150m from the B6.
- The site is access via the existing farm road from the B6
- The site is located within an area not zoned for development
Proposal
- The proposal is to erect a three polytunnel
- Two of them will be 7.35m x 4.27m x 2.1m
- One of them will be 4.88m x 3m x 2.1m

- 05/01913 - Erection of a steel framed building for use as a joinery workshop with storage area for horticultural and beekeeping equipment and erection of three polytunnels – refused at review 7/4/06
- 05/2015/A - Approval in principle for the demolition of and erection of a replacement farmhouse – granted on review 7/4/06

Issues
In terms of the impact from the polytunnels, the proposed siting tunnels are set well within the application site and will be obscured by existing landscaping features. The tunnels will not be visible from the Smeale Road (B8). To the west of the site is open countryside with no landscaping along the boundary. This area is not accessible to the public. The owners of the adjoining site would be the only people to notice the tunnels. I therefore do not feel the polytunnels will adversely impact on the visual amenities of the locality.
Conclusion
I therefore recommend that permission be granted subject to conditions in the attached schedule.
