Ref 25 Malew St, Castletown.
We are applying for planning permission to change the doors and windows of our property. We aim to make any changes within keeping of the local area and conservation area.
At the moment, all windows are single glazed and in a poor state of repair. Our aim is to make the property more energy efficient by replacing all windows with PVC double glazed units. This will reduce noise leves and make the property more secure.
We wish to replace any sach windows on the front of the house with look a like sach horn windows to match the old windows. We have noted that a few nearby properties, including "The Courtyard", have used these on their upper floors. Our larger ground foor window will be in 3 panels in one unit as per original window, although a little smaller and higher off the ground to make it look more like a house window rather than the original large shop window when it was a shop over 30 years ago. We have discussed this with planning prior to this application.
Windows will be fitted with toughened glass to meet requirements. We plan to paint the property in a neutral colour and replace old and broken guttering with PVC to match the windows.
