No ObjectionI believe that this site is zoned for residential use and although the previously approved approval-in-principle application has expired I see no material planning reason to object to this application. (My usual note to Lonan Commissioners applies.)

ObjectionWe wish to raise concerns and the following objections to the erection of the new dwelling

Conditional No ObjectionI have no objection to a house being built next to Newlands, but it would appear common sense for it to stay within the building line of the adjacent properties

The original application 05/01708/B for erection of a dwelling was refused by the Planning Committee on 9 December 2005 and on review on 3 March 2006. Mrs L N White-Jamieson lodged an appeal (AP06/0073) on 24 March 2006, represented by agent Dave Luton Design. The appeal process involved notification to parties, a request for the council's statement of case ahead of a planned inquiry, and consideration by an independent inspector. No appeal arguments or inspector's analysis are present as the appeal was withdrawn on 5 May 2006. Consequently, the Planning Committee's refusal decision stands.
Precedent Value
This appeal sets no precedent as it was withdrawn before any substantive consideration or decision by the inspector. Future applicants should note that appeals can be withdrawn at any stage, leaving the original refusal intact, and should weigh costs and timing carefully before lodging.
