Officer's Report
The site represents a small square piece of land situated on Peel Hill and which accommodates the telecommunications mast and associated cabin approved under PA 00/0077.
Now propose is the erection of security fencing to prevent unauthorised climbing of the mast and cabin. This has occurred and the applicant, DHA are concerned at their liability and the safety of those coming to the site. The fencing will be 2.4m in height and will enclose th tower and pathway to the cabin all on the western side of the site. The fencing will be vertical posts, colour unspecified.
There are no objections to the principle although PTC suggest that the planting of screening shrubs would be helpful. Climbing plants would be perhaps useful in helping to screen the fencing along with the use of green coloured fencing although I'm not sure how successful planting up there in such an exposed position would be.
