Officer's Report
The site represents the curtilage of 22 Shore Road which lies on the lower Promenade in Port St. Mary. The building on the site is a three storey stone building attached to another which is known as the old Sail Loft. Both stone buildings are Registered (RB203).
Proposed here are alterations to number 22 (the Sail Loft is not within the defined site). These include:
replacement of the asbestos tiled roof with natural slate refurbishment of the existing windows installation of new Conservation-style rooflights in the rear elevation replacement of two existing windows and their replacement with sliding sashes replacement of guttering removal and replacement of internal floors replacement of sanitary fittings and replacement of internal ceilings.
Also shown on the drawings are rebuilding of part of the chmineys due to instability. All of this appears to be an improvement on the existing situation and making better use of the fabric which is clearly important. Defer for CO report.
