Officer's Report

The site represents the curtilage of an existing property located on the southern side of Church Road in Port Erin, within an area designated as Mixed use on the Port Erin Plan adopted by Tynwald in 1990. Proposed here is the installation of a satellite dish in the rear yard on the back wall of the building. The dish will be 1.5m in diameter and white in colour. The dish will not be seen by the passing public and the rear land is not particularly salubrious (see also the refused application for the flue for the take-away (05/0802).

The proposal is associated with the change of use application for this property (PA 05/01074) to which there is one objection. Whilst the dish would only be required for the running of this particular business, there is no adverse impact as a result of it, so I see no reason to withhold this approval unless and until the use is approved.
