Officer's Report

The application site is set in the open countryside and within an area of high landscape value and scenic significance. The proposal is to install an 1140 litre LPG tank. The tank will be colour coated green.

To the north of the proposed tank is a strip of landscaping which will obscure the proposal from the rest of the surrounding landscape. I consider the tank has been sited in a sensitive manner away from any public viewpoints. Furthermore the colour coating will help to blend the tank in the surrounding landscaping.

The proposal is not visible from the public highway and will not impact on the visual amenities of the street scene.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This permission relates to the installation of a LPG tank as shown in drawing numbers 51.1.05 received on 16th August 2005; 1197/02 and 1197/03 (as amended) both received on 23 June 2005

C 3. Within one month of the installation of the LPG tank, it shall be colour coated in accordance with the details in the approved plans.

N . PRIOR to the commencement of any works the applicant is advised to consult the Fire Safety Department of the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service.
