Officer's Report
The application site is situated at Ballalheaney to the south of Andreas Road. The application site is currently a complex of building used by tourists. The site is set in the open countryside.
The windows would have the same pattern of sections and glazing bars than the existing windows. The proposed are set on the rear elevation of the buildings. The rear is open countryside with no public thoroughfare. I consider the proposal will not have a negative effect on the appearance of the building and impact on the visual amenities of the area.
In terms of the impact on the street scene of Andreas Road, the extension would be situated approximately 145m away from the public highway. In between is landscaping in the form of trees and shrubs that will obscure any views of the building. I consider the proposal will not cause demonstrable harm to the visual amenities of the street scene.
