Town and Country Planning Acts, 1934 - 1991
Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982
Mr Ashley Pettit 4 Osborne Terrace Douglas IM1 3LH
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr C C & Mrs T S Thomas Proposal: Alterations and extensions to dwelling to provide additional living accommodation including a double garage with a flat over and repair to retaining wall at: The Dolls House Old Castletown Road Douglas IM2 1QB
which was considered on 29 July 2005, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 3 August, 2005 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Secretary Planning Committee
Reasons For Refusal:
- As part of the original Nunnery complex, and in particular the Nunnery Mill, the existing house is of some architectural and historic interest; the proposed extensions would engulf the existing building and would disregard its formal symmetry and original mass, so affecting adversely the appearance and interest of the building.
NOTE It is recommended that there should be consultation with the Department’s Conservation Officer in relation to the design.
NOTE This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
Note 1: The decision contained in this notice does not become final until:-
