Officer's Report

Approval is sought to renew a temporary approval which was granted under PA 04/342. This gave permission to hold an open air market on the car park area associated with Wiseman Carpets, Station Road, Port Erin.

The site is within an area zoned as Mixed Use in the Port Erin Plan.

A twelve-month period was granted to assess the impact.

There have been no objections from the Commissioners and the Highways Division and it is judged that a full approval is now justified.

C 1. This approval relates to the holding of a Market on one day per week and Car Boot Sales on any Sunday, as indicated in the plans and information submitted as part of this application, date stamped 18th October 2004. For the avoidance of doubt, this approval permits the continued use of the site in the manner described above beyond the last day of April 2005 which was the time limit specified under PA 04/342/C.

I confirm that this decision accords with Government Circular No 57/01 (Delegation of Functions to Director of Planning and Building Control).
