Please find below the Commissioners decisions in relation to the Planning Applications considered at their meeting on the 31st August 2004. PA04 01349/B - Amended Application for Two Storey Extension to Side Elevation. Change of Agricultural Land to Extend Rear Garden. The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.
PA04 01453 - 123 Fairways Drive, Mount Murray - Application for Low Level Decking with Clear and Obscure Glass Handrail to the Rear of 123 Fairways Drive.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.
PA04 01544 - 22 Clybane Rise, Farmhill, Braddan - Application for New Wooden Finish UPVC Conservatory with Rendered Walls to Rear Elevation.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application, but that it would be subject the inclusion of a Planning condition requiring the glazing on the elevation directly adjacent to the existing dwelling being obscure in order to protect the privacy of the use of the rear garden of the adjacent dwelling.
PA04 01562 - Millcroft, East Baldwin, Braddan - Application for Proposed Alterations to Form Conservatory. The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application. PA04 01566 - 15 Ballamillaghyn, Braddan - Application to Take Out Splayed Bay on Rear Elevation Supply and Fit New White UPVC Conservatory. The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.
PA04 01588 - Application for Proposed Construction of a Classroom Facility at the Motorbike Training Centre - Car Park, Marine Drive, Port Soderick, Braddan.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application. PA04 01633 - Application for Change of Use to Units 12 & 13 to a Showroom and Unit 14 to a Workshop. The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application subject to the
inclusion of two Planning Conditions, that the change of use would be only granted for the sale of cars and use of the site as workshops, or incidental to the sale and repair of cars and that no retail use would be approved in relation to the sale of promotional goods such as cloth's etc. That there would be no external advertising of the sale of cars from outwith the building.
PA04 01634 - Shee Ghee, Braddan Road, Strang, Braddan - Application for the Erection of Wall along the Boundary with the Public Lane.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.
PA04 01636 - Application for the Fabrication of 19 No Double Gates and Gateposts at Snugborough, Braddan including Fencing as Required to Gates.
The Commissioners received and noted the application, as this is an application submitted by the Commissioners. PA04 01681 - Ballacutchel Farm, Mount Murray, Braddan - Application for a Replacement Storage Shed/Workshop - Page: 425 The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application. PA04 01683 - Corletts Yard, Union Mills, Braddan - Change of Use of Land/Buildings from 4 Wheel Hire/Van Centre to Auction Rooms.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application, but that it would be subject to a Planning condition that would restrict the use of the site to that of goods sold by way of Auction, and that such goods must be second hand.
PA04 01705 - Memorial Hall, Union Mills - Application for Storage Facilities to the Rear of the Building by means of Provision of a Portakabin to Provide Additional Storage and/or WC.
The Commissioners received and noted the application, as this is an application submitted by the Commissioners.
PA04 01706 - Memorial Hall, Union Mills - Application for Storage Facilities to the Rear of the Building by means of Provision of Portakabins to Provide Additional Storage and WC.
The Commissioners received and noted the application, as this is an application submitted by the Commissioners. PA04 01733 - 3 Ballamillaghyn, Mount Rule, Braddan - Application for Proposed Loft Conversion and 6 No Proposed Roof Windows. The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.
PA04 01735 - Unit 15, Snugborough Trading Estate, Union Mills - Application for Proposed Replacement of Existing Windows and Doors - Ard Whallin Outdoor Pursuits Centre, West Baldwin, Braddan.
The Commissioners would recommend approval of the above application.

Dear Sir,
PA 04/1706 – Siting of Portacabins to rear of building to provide storage facilities and or W.C’s Memorial Hall. Main Road, Union Mills, Braddan.
The plans for the proposed development have been inspected and the Drainage Division of the Department of Transport requests that the following comment(s) be passed to your Planning Committee: -
1) There must be NO discharge of surface water (directly or indirectly) from these proposed portacabins to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.
2) It has been stated by the applicant that the surface water from these proposed portacabins is to be discharged via a soakaway and not to an existing surface water drain as stated within the planning application form. The use of soakaways are subject to Building Control approval and if this approval is not granted, the Drainage Division would not give permission for the discharge of surface water into the existing foul system and an alternative means of disposal would have to be sought.
Note: The applicant is requested to supply the Division a copy of any Building Control Application in relation to the surface water discharge from this development.
In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice. Yours faithfully,
