The site represents the curtilage of a terraced house located on the eastern side of Ballafurt Road. The existing property is an end of terrace, 2 storey house with a single storey, flat roofed store on the rear elevation.
Proposed is the removal of the rear annex and its replacement with a two storey structure accommodating a kitchen on the ground floor and a bathroom on the upper floor.
There will be windows in the rear of the extension and in the elevation facing south, towards the detached house next to it. There are no windows in the north elevation, facing towards "Glen Shoggill", the owners of which have objected to this on grounds of overlooking (there are to be no windows facing this property) and overshadowing. There will be 2.5m between the new extension and the adjacent property to the north. See photographs - these also show existing windows cast by low structures, the two storey extension will have a greater impact.
