Broadbent Objection Letter
Secretary to the Planning Committee DOLGE Murray House Mount Havelock DOUGLAS 31st August 2004
Dear Sirs,
Re: Planning Application – PA.04/1563
My wife and I would like to register an objection to the proposed extension at Clerehithe, Ballafurt Road, which I viewed at the Port Erin Commissioners office this morning. The objection is based on the following grounds:
- Overshadowing – a two storey extension directly to the south would overshadow much of our rear garden for a significant portion of the day, this would create problems with the drying of washing and there is already a very damp area adjacent to our rear door where the ground is overshadowed by the boundary wall – this would be considerably extended by the proposed extension.
- Loss of privacy - any windows in the north facing aspect of the proposed extension would have direct line of sight view to the bathroom, kitchen, dining room and bedroom windows in the rear of our property.
- The above factors and the overbearing nature of the development would have a de-valuing effect on our property.
I hope that you will be able to consider this objection at your meeting and look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, K.T & H.K Broadbent
