RECEIVED ON 21 JUL 2004 DEPT. OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Date: 28 June 2004
Dear Sir
PA04/01185/C – Change of use from tourist accommodation to residential use – 3 Mona Street, Peel
The above mentioned applications have been considered by the Network Planning Section and the following observations will be forwarded to the Planning Committee of the Department of Local Government and the Environment as the response of the Director of Highways on behalf of the DOT Highways Client Group.
Objection:
The proposed change of use from holiday accommodation to 3-bedroomed apartment is silent on the issue of car parking. Invariably permanent accommodation requires a higher parking standard than holiday accommodation.
In the absence of any on-site parking, this will increase pressure on on-street parking, in an area where parking is at a premium.
Yours faithfully
K C ASHCROFT Network Planning Engineer
It should be noted that these observations relate only to matters affecting the highway and do not in any way prejudice any decisions which may be reached in relation to Town and Country Planning or Bye-Laws.
