Renovation of Buildings in the Countryside
The circular opposes demolition and rebuilding of barns in the countryside. The officer assessed that while this test was not fully met, approval was justified to avoid harming the barn group's character given the advanced high-quality works and the building's unsuitability for renovation due to structural issues.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

Demolition limited to 1831 section
This approval relates to the demolition and rebuilding of the section of the barn built in 1831 only as shown on the submitted drawings.
Traditional stonework
The exterior stonework must be of a traditional nature. NOTE: Split stone on a backing render is not acceptable as an external finish.
Timber windows
All windows must be timber framed. These may be hardwood double glazed windows.
Timber doors
All doors must be timber framed.
No replacement of doors/windows
Notwithstanding the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Permitted Development) Order 1983 (or any Order revoking or re-enacting that Order) no external doors or windows shall be replaced (other than those expressly authorised by this permission).
Ancillary domestic use only
The accommodation must be used for domestic purposes which are ancillary to the use of the existing dwelling Ballacurn Mooar. No approval is granted to the use of the building for commercial purposes or as a separate residential unit.

Objectionmy Commissioners are opposed to the proposed development as it is completely out of keeping with the earlier approval, and therefore would spoil an area of scenic beauty, which because of its positioning can be seen for miles afar, and therefore would be a blot on the landscape.
