Laxey Commissioners object to this application after consideration of the letters of objection received from Laxey residents. The reasons for objection are: The proposed site is alongside a listed building in a prominent party of the Conservation area, and as such not appropriate for A development of this sort. The area outlined for development would be significantly reduced once consideration to the roots of the trees in the area, together with the restriction imposed on development within the curtilage of the church has been considered. Such a small site would not allow development of a reasonably sized community hall. Access would be difficult as it would require crossing tram lines. Parking is already a problem in this part of the village, there would be no available space to create additional parking to service the facility.
