Officer's Report

The site is a mid terraced property close to the southern extent of Peel. It falls outside of the Conservation Area. It is traditional in style but has lost its original windows and door. There is a mix of window and door styles in this terrace which is opposite quite a modern terrace.

Proposed are replacement uPVC windows and door. The windows are shown with Georgian bars and the door is also shown with similar glazing bars. All bars are to be internal.

After contacting the agent about the use of the internal bars and finally receiving a response from the applicant, it is understood that the preference is for the internal bars in the windows but the bottom half of the door is now proposed to be a solid panel.

Given the siting of the dwelling and the mix of styles, the opening method and glazing pattern are considered acceptable.

C 1 . The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2 . This approval relates to the drawings submitted on 24th February 2004. The lower section of the door however must be a solid panel rather than fully glazed.
