Proposal: Safety engineering works to an abandoned mine shaft and creation at: of a temporary access route Field 624093 (County Series 805), Maughold Ramsey which was considered on 4 December 2003, subject to compliance with the conditions specified on the attached schedule.

Note 1: This permission refers only to that required under the Town and Country Planning Acts and does not include any consent or approval under any other enactment, bylaw, order or regulation.
Note 2: No works may be commenced until such time as -
- the time for requesting a review of the initial decision has expired; or
- any review of the initial decision has been completed; or
- the time for requesting an appeal in relation to the decision has expired; or
- any appeal has been completed.

- This approval relates to the excavation of the mineshaft, fitting of concrete cap or plug and reinstatement of the earth surrounding and above the shaft, all in accordance with the information and drawings received on 5th November 2003.
- This approval also relates to the creation of a temporary access to the mineshaft from the existing access onto the A15 as shown in drawing reference CA02141/PA01. Once the capping and reinstatement of the shaft has been completed, the access must be removed and the field reinstated within 3 weeks.
- The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
This decision was made by the Director of Planning in accordance with powers delegated to him under Paragraph 2 (6) (b) of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
