Reasons For Refusal

1. This refusal relates to the replacement windows only.
2. The proposal is contrary to Planning Circular 1/98 regarding the alteration and replacement of windows. The proposed change in opening style will significantly change the appearance of the building to the detriment of its character and setting.

Note: Without prejudice to any subsequent applications the renovation of the existing sliding sash windows or replacement with a similar type and style may be considered acceptable. The applicant is advised to contact the Conservation Section with regard to design advice and the availability of grant assistance under the Historic Buildings Conservation Scheme 2000.
