Section 2 states "and no other staff may be employed and/or work at the premises". I have been home brewing for 2 years here and I always have help when I brew it is a 2 man operation as the process is not automated and is impossible to run on a solo basis. I therefore would like this clause amended to one other staff may be employed and/or work.
The other major factor besides the Brewing process being a 2 man job is Health and Safety. The Brewing process deals with extremely hot and boiling liquids, any accident or malfunction of equipment could result in personal injury. There is also electrical equipment being operated in a wet environment it is therefore necessary always to have another person in situ on Health and Safety Grounds.
Site of Existing Home Brewery at Lough Ned within the Workshop with attached garage, original planning application 87/00872/B
There is currently a 50 Litre Brewery within the workshop with one Fermenting Vessel in use purely for home consumption. It is proposed to purchase extra Fermenters and to sell the product in 4.5 gallon casks (pins) to the Trade (Pubs). At present I brew one day a week and each extra Fermenter would require another days brewing. Each fermenter would fill 2 pins. I would deliver the pins to the pubs 2 days per week. Anticipated sales would be around 4-5 pins per week. On a brew day I require the help of one other person as the plant is manual and the brewery operation requires two people to operate it.
There would be no extra building work or alteration to any services.
