Project: CASTLETOWN GOLF LINKS HOTEL Project ID: 02436 Document: Methodology statement for creating 3D photomontage visuals Date: 29th November 2018 Our methodology to creating the photomontage visuals is as follows;
Create a model in Autodesk' 3D Studio Max of the building 1:1 in scale from the vector CAD and PDF files provided
As we did not have an Ordinance Survey map covering all areas, we extended what we did have using google earth exports which had camera station points pinned as per GPS coordinates provided by the photographer.
Cameras positioned on these locations. Settings (focal length, light value etc.) for the 3D cameras was set to the metadata extracted from the provided photos
A massing model of the existing building was created and placed according to the site plan and FFL
a. Camera targets are calibrated to this with the photo set as a background, if correct the 3D will overly the existing in the photo, which it did.
The source photo is cut into layers for fore and background of the building to create the photomontage final visual
