Planning Statement in support of the application for the change of use of Tromode Drill Hall Cottages
The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has now completed the purchase of the Tromode Drill Hall and associated land which will be used as a Corporate Headquarters and will include the following
Offices for the Chief Executive's Office
Accommodation for the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service Senior Management team
Police Civilian staff relocated from Police HQ
Offices for the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service Fire Safety Division
Offices and Training rooms for Civil Defence and Emergency Planning
Offices and training facilities for Police Development unit
In Respect of item 5 Planning permission is sought for a change of use for the former Drill Hall Cottages located at the rear of the Drill Hall complex.
The cottages were formerly used as accommodation for Water Authority workers but have been vacant for a number of years.
Planning permission is sought to use these buildings as offices, training rooms and storage for the Civil Defence Corps and DHA Emergency Planning Unit.
There will be no external alteration to the properties
This forms an important part of the whole site development
