Refusal Notice 09/01672/B
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Penketh - Millar 23 West Quay Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 1DL
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mrs Sandra McMahon Proposal: Alterations and erection of a two storey extension to dwelling house at: 40 Clifton Drive Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 3NG
which was considered on 26th January 2010, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 27th January 2010
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Mrs C Dudley Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The extension by reason of its design, size and siting would unbalance the symmetry of the semi-detached properties which would have an adverse impact on the appearance of the property and be detrimental to the streetscape. The proposal would thus be contrary to General Policy 2 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007.
- The extension projecting towards the street and being positioned abutting the footpath would undermine the 'openness' and attractiveness of the streetscape. The proposed development would thus be contrary to General Policy 2 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
